HARVEST on DVD
The latest training resource from the Archbishop’s national Fresh Expressions Team is due for release in May. It will be launched at a Conference in Oxford on Friday 6th May. Called ‘Expressions: making a difference’ it comes either as a stand-alone DVD or as part of a study package, including work books. It contains more than three hours worth of material, telling the stories of twenty-eight different Fresh Expressions projects, each one at a different stage on the journey.
HARVEST is one of those stories. Norman Ivison, the Producer visited HARVEST on a quiet mid-week day last year, and several of our members turned out to take part in events to illustrate HARVEST life for the cameras. The DVD will cost £15
WALK ON
Monday 2nd May is the date for our annual Bank Holiday walk. In recent years we have hit on the happy pattern of finding a route that will give us an hour’s walk across the fields, through the woods or in open countryside, to a local hostelry of good repute. After a period of (liquid) refreshment we have continued by another route, a further hour back to the original point of departure. (Usually where there is also a place of respite or at the very least a picnic area for our own amusement.)
This year we will revisit one of our favourite venues, at Grove Ferry. However, we plan to set off in the direction of East Stourmouth and a potential halt at the ‘Rising Sun’, before returning along the river bank to the Picnic Site. Meet at Grove Ferry in time to start walking by 10.30 am. If all goes to plan we should be back there for lunch at about 1 pm. Don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes.
PRAYING FOR THE FUTURE
At a time of transition, the role of praying together assumes even greater significance. You are warmly invited to participate in the upcoming opportunities for shared prayer. Kevin and Natasa continue to offer hospitality in their home for monthly prayer events on a Saturday morning. The next two are scheduled for Saturday 16th April and Saturday 14th May. Both start with breakfast together at 8.30 am, the prayer runs from 9 am and the event closes at 10 am.
